Contact support

How to reach a person, what to include, and what to expect back.

Email us

Write to [email protected]. A person reads every message, and replies within two working days. There is no chat and no phone line: Draft Margin is run by one person, and email is how one person keeps up.

Before you write, the answer may already be in these pages; the help topics are short, and your browser’s Find searches each one.

What to include

A good first message saves a round of questions:

  • your site’s address, such as jane-doe.draftmargin.com;
  • what you were doing, step by step;
  • what happened, and what you expected instead, with any message you saw, word for word;
  • a screenshot, if you can take one;
  • whether you were on a phone or a computer.

Send it from the address you sign in with, so we know the site is yours. We will never ask for your password, and you should never send it: we do not need it to help.

What support can do

  • Raise a safety limit you have reached.
  • Look again at a suspension you think is a mistake.
  • Look into something that is broken, or that does not do what these pages say.
  • Answer questions about how something works, or where to find it.

What support cannot do

  • Design work, or changes to a theme for one site.
  • Custom code or custom CSS.
  • Help with other services, such as your newsletter provider, your domain registrar or a store’s author page, beyond what these pages cover.
  • Connect your own domain, for now. Custom domains are coming, and will be free too.

Ideas are always welcome, all the same.

Reporting someone else’s site

If a site made with Draft Margin is spam, is pretending to be someone, copies someone else’s writing, or is harmful, use the report form, or the Report this site link in that site’s footer. It reaches the same person, with the details needed to act on it.
